Review: Essential Oil Anti-Aging Serum

Hey ya’ll! I got something to show you *sing song voice*!

A few weeks ago, Try Essential reached out to me and asked me to write a review for them. I’m always game to try new things and won’t say no to free samples!

Alright, here’s the deets. Essential is a company based in California that’s been formulating its products for the past two decades with the help of biochemists (meaning they know what they’re doing!).  Right now, they have two products: Essential Smooth and Essential Repair which is an anti-aging cream for your night routine.  I was sent the Essential Smooth, which repairs “dry & sun-damaged skin, restores skin elasticity and reduces (or even eliminates) age-spots and blemishes”.  They use all natural and organic ingredients sourced from around the world. Score!

So far, I like this company because they’re upfront about their ingredients, listing them right on the website instead of making you search for a picture of the side of a tiny bottle. In addition, they’re committed to organic and natural skin products, which is what I’m all for! Go team!

Essential Smooth, $50 for .5oz

This product uses a variety of essential oils, but the base oil is rosehip seed oil.  Be aware that rosehip seed is orangish in color, so don’t be surprised if it comes out dark or light orange.  Don’t worry-it will rub in.  Rosehip seed oil is full of Vitamins A, C and E.  Vitamin E is a very awesome vitamin for your skin, as it fights aging and is full of antioxidants.

The scent is faint and sweet, like a fresh tea bag.  Hubby had to really try and smell it, which means he’s a fan! (He doesn’t like heavily-scented products).

The color in my bottle came out dark orange, and when I started to rub it in, looked like a bad tan, but rubbed in nicely with no discolorations.  Since it is all oil, it is at FIRST a bit greasy, but absorbs quickly and does not leave a sheen and leaves your skin super soft!  You’ll probably only need 1-2 pumps for this, so the bottle should last a while.  It is definitely on the expensive side at $50 for half an ounce, but for youthful skin, worth it.  And heck, you should splurge on yourself every once in a while, right? Treat yo self!

You can purchase their product on their website or on Amazon.

Thanks for reading and thanks to Essential for giving me the opportunity to try out their product!
